Homegroups have been running in PBC for some years. They are an important part of our commitment as a church family to grow closer, go deeper and reach further with the love of Jesus.
What is a home group?
A home group is a small group of people who meet together on a regular basis, usually in someone's home. The groups provide a warm, informal setting to develop and share our faith, to be discipled and to build up our relationships with each other.
What happens in a home group?
Most sessions begin with a time of fellowship and sharing food together before a period of bible study and conversation. Each home group has a designated group leader who will facilitate discussions and who will usually share discussion topics in advance of meeting together. Every home group will follow a series of planned sessions which usually relate to the current teaching series from our Sunday morning services. Each session will usually end with a time of prayer.
Home groups are designed for everyone no matter where they are on their journey of faith, as such no one will be asked to do anything that they don't feel comfortable with.
How often do home groups meet?
Home groups usually run between October and March and meet weekly on a Wednesday evening. There is also a group which meets on a Wednesday morning within the church building.
On the last Wednesday evening of the month all home groups meet together in the church building for a joint time of prayer.
You don't have to go, and indeed you may not be able to get to every home group meeting, however it is beneficial to attend regularly where possible.
Are home groups running at the moment and where do they meet?
When the home group program is running there are multiple home groups which meet across the North Coast, including, Castlerock, Coleraine, Ballymoney, Portstewart, Portrush and Bushmills.
The current home group program resumes on 02 October 2024 and will run until Spring 2025.
